Welcome to my blog. I plan to do occasional posts before I set off and then every
few days on the trip. On May 12th 2012 I will be dipping the rear wheel of my bike
into the Pacific Ocean in Los Angeles and heading for the Atlantic in Boston.

2000 miles completed and crossing the Mississippi

Today was supposed to be a relatively easy 74 miles however a strong wind made it hard work for most of the day.

However at the sag stop we celebrated 2000 miles from Los Angeles.





We passed a run down bike shop



-We then headed over the mighty Mississippi river into Illinois









Fortunately we seem to have left the rolling hills for a while.

Tomorrow is 107miles to Springfield home of The Simpsons.
