Welcome to my blog. I plan to do occasional posts before I set off and then every
few days on the trip.
On May 12th 2012 I will be dipping the rear wheel of my bike
into the Pacific Ocean
in Los Angeles and heading for the Atlantic in Boston.
I am funding the trip myself, however I am seeking sponsorship for The Multiple Sclerosis
Society. Please consider supporting my sponsorship by clicking on the "Sponsor me " link.
Note all of your donation will be going to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

I am looking forward to this great challenge and hope you find my blog of interest.
Please enter your email details on the right to receive updates. Thanks

McPherson to Abilene 62 miles

61 miles through Kansas. As we head east and north the land gets greener with some trees. Some parts would remind you of Norfolk. Corn and cows are evident as well as wheat.

Not really any great attractions to photo. The weather is warming up, we started the ride at near 80f and it rose to over 100f by midday.

Robin clearly wanted to encourage us.

We rolled into Abilene, which seems a quaint place and headed to Dairy Queen for a chocolate milkshake. I will probably never have another milkshake after this ride, however they do a great job at revitalising us after the heat of a ride.

Tomorrow is rest day and the following day is a century with 6000 feet of climbing!

Fundraising page now at £4,157 keeps going up, many thanks everyone.

In good spirits heading to Ikes' Bar and Grill tonight as no cycling tomorrow.

This is the home town of Dwight Eisenhower, more of that tomorrow
